Abstract

In the context of academics, the term “research” refers to an organized process of inquiry that is conducted with the purpose of generating new information, validating current theories, or finding solutions to specific problems by employing procedures that are well-defined. To provide a response to a question or to investigate a hypothesis in a scholarly manner, the process entails collecting, analyzing, and interpreting material.

For several different reasons, research is an essential component of higher education instruction. Not only does it inspire curiosity and inventiveness, but it also helps to cultivate critical thinking. Through research, universities make significant contributions to the growth of knowledge in various fields, have an impact on the formulation of public policy, and provide solutions to issues that are encountered in the real world. Not only does it enhance the institution’s reputation, but it also contributes to the nation’s development by offering evidence-based answers.

Undergraduate students can accomplish multiple goals by participating in research. It gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience in inquiry-based learning, improves their academic and professional skills, and motivates them to pursue future positions in research-based enterprises or academic institutions. In addition, participation in research studies at an early age encourages independent learning, increases self-assurance, and fosters a more profound comprehension of the material covered in the course outside of the classroom.
