Author Guidelines

Before submitting their work to CJESS, authors should take several crucial steps to ensure that their manuscript meets the requirements and maximizes its chances of acceptance. Here are some key actions authors should consider before submission:

  1. Review the Author Guidelines: The first step is to thoroughly review the author guidelines provided by CJESS. Pay close attention to formatting requirements, citation style, word count limitations, language preferences, and any specific instructions for submission.
  2. Check for Plagiarism: Authors should ensure that their manuscript is original and free from plagiarism. This involves properly citing sources and avoiding verbatim copying of text from other sources without attribution. Plagiarism detection tools can be useful for identifying and rectifying any unintentional instances of plagiarism.
  3. Proofread and Edit: It is essential to carefully proofread and edit the manuscript for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity. Authors should strive for clear and concise writing, eliminating errors and ambiguities that could detract from the quality of the work.
  4. Format the Manuscript: Follow the formatting guidelines provided by CJESS, including specifications for font, spacing, margins, headings, and references. Consistent formatting enhances readability and professionalism, making the manuscript more appealing to reviewers and editors.
  5. Prepare Supplementary Materials: If the manuscript includes supplementary materials such as figures, tables, or multimedia content, ensure that these are properly formatted and submitted according to the CJESS's guidelines. Provide clear captions and labels for all supplementary materials.
  6. Address Ethical Considerations: Authors should adhere to ethical standards in research and publication. This includes obtaining necessary permissions for any copyrighted materials used in the manuscript, disclosing conflicts of interest, and obtaining informed consent for research involving human subjects.
  7. Conduct a Final Check: Before submission, conduct a final check to ensure that all components of the manuscript are in order. Verify that all sections, figures, tables, and references are included and correctly formatted. Double-check the submission instructions to ensure that all requirements have been met.
  8. By diligently completing these steps before submission, authors can increase the quality and professionalism of their manuscript, thereby enhancing its chances of acceptance by CJESS.
