Repository Policy

The Cambodian Journal of Educational and Social Sciences (CJESS) is committed to promoting open access and adheres to internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing. In alignment with Open Policy Finder (Sherpa Romeo), the journal ensures transparency in its archiving and licensing policies to support global accessibility and compliance with open access mandates.

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit three versions of their manuscripts in institutional, disciplinary, or general-purpose repositories. The pre-print version (submitted manuscript before peer review) may be deposited in any repository at any time. Authors are encouraged to indicate that the manuscript has been submitted to CJESS and to update the repository entry with a link to the final published version once available. The post-print version (peer-reviewed and accepted manuscript prior to journal formatting) may also be deposited. This version should clearly state its acceptance in CJESS, include the full citation, and link to the final version. The published version (the official journal-formatted PDF) may be deposited immediately without embargo. Authors are strongly encouraged to include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) when sharing this version in any repository.

All articles in CJESS are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license allows others to copy, distribute, adapt, and build upon the work, even for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and that any resulting works are shared under the same license.

To ensure digital preservation, CJESS participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which guarantees long-term accessibility of its published content. The journal fully complies with the standards and classifications of Sherpa Romeo / Open Policy Finder, making it easier for authors and institutions to verify self-archiving rights and funder compliance.

Authors are encouraged to deposit their work in a wide range of repositories, including institutional repositories, subject-based platforms such as arXiv and SSRN, general repositories like Zenodo and ResearchGate, and national or regional archives. Through this comprehensive and transparent self-archiving policy, CJESS promotes the visibility, usability, and scholarly impact of research in education and the social sciences.
